The Unit

                                                  January ,  1993

The officers at W.J. Boyd  Council would like to extend our wishes for a healthy and a happy

new year to all our council members and their families.

Communion Breakfast

A Communion Breakfast was held on December 6th, as members and their families gathered to

attend the 9:00 Mass at St. Barnabas in Woodlawn.  Following the service, all retired to a local restaurant

for a sumptuous buffet breakfast.  The attendance was many times that of the previous Communion

Breakfast, and serves as yet another example of the increased activity level of the membership.

Childrens Christmas Party

The Annual Boyd Children's Christmas Party was held on Sunday,  December 13th at  Sts. Peter

and Paul's Church in the Fleetwood section of Mt. Vernon.  Refreshments were served all day,  and the

children were entertained by the antics of Bingo the clown.  In the late afternoon, reindeer on the roof

betrayed the arrival of a special visitor.  Sure enough, Old St. Nick joined the party, assuring that

children of all ages would have a wonderful time.  Special thanks to Brothers Farley, Miller, Ellis, and

Conroy for making the day a huge success.  Many thanks also to Billy McLaughlin, who brought many

smiles to his multitude of anxious admirers that day.
