LIFE OPTIONS CENTER
The LIFE OPTIONS CENTER is a Yonkers pro-life pregnancy center for women and families. The Center gives women in Yonkers a friendly neighborhood locale for health and family care resources in and near the Center for women and families looking for help and real alternatives to abortion.
The Center offers free, compassionate, confidential services that include free pregnancy tests; help with crisis pregnancies; parenting classes and health decisions mentoring; and referrals to community resources.
Their Life Options motto: Where There's Life, There's Hope!
The Center is most in need of Size 6 diapers and pregnancy kits. They could also use used car seats, used maternity clothes and used strollers.
Please make every effort to contribute to this worthy cause. All donations can be brought to monthly Council meetings, or any Council event such as the Christmas Party on December 14.
The WOODLAWN RUN FOR A CAUSE is an annual event of fun, fitness, and fundraising. Organized by Boyd members, this year they raised more than $18,000 for the Making Headway Foundation and The Matthew Wallace Foundation.
The AISLING IRISH COMMUNITY CENTER assists Irish immigrants in their transition to life in the USA. They do this by offering a number of programs and services including social, cultural, educational, and recreational. Aisling Irish Center is one of the largest Irish immigrant resource centers in the tri-state area and the main provider of services for the elderly Irish and Irish-American community in Yonkers and Woodlawn.
The March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. For 80 years, March of Dimes has helped millions of babies survive and thrive. Now they are building on that legacy to level the playing field for all moms and babies, no matter their age, socio-economic background or demographics. They support moms throughout their pregnancy, even when everything doesn’t go according to plan. They advocate for policies that prioritize their health. They support radical improvements to the care they receive. And they pioneer research to find solutions to the biggest health threats to moms and babies.
The Cycle for Survival is the movement to beat rare cancers. Their high-energy indoor team cycling events provide a tangible way for you to fight back—100% of all money raised directly funds lifesaving rare cancer research.
100% of funds raised go directly to research at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
The Water Mission fights the global water crisis by taking a comprehensive approach to combating the crisis with water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) solutions.
They provide solutions for those who live in communities around the world that lack safe water and sanitation and those who are suffering as a result of a disaster or emergency situation.
They have provided safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) solutions in more than 55 countries and have over 250 staff members working around the world in permanent country programs.
The WJ Boyd Council has contributed to a number of worthy causes over the last year.
