The chance books enclosed
should be returned as promptly as possible, since the drawing will be held on
May 22nd. The proceeds go to a worthy
cause - Calvary Hospital - and a strong return will provide our council with
some additional income. Your support is

Nominations for office will
be made at the membership meeting this month on the night of May 19th at 8:00
PM. If there is anyone interested in
running for a particular office, please contact our hotline and leave a message
on the machine (914) 237 - 2747. The
council elections will follow on June 16th at 8:00 PM.
Carmine Tabacco, the
Financial Secretary, reports that while the dues returns have been good to this
point, there are still quite a few members who are in arrears. If you have any questions regarding your
current status, leave a message on the machine and Carmine will get back to you
as soon as possible. We would like to
see you save the postage and pay your dues at a meeting - this will enable you
to volunteer your suggestions and your time to all the current council efforts.
On April 14th, 8 new members
of Boyd Council took the 1st Degree. Our newest members are: Richard Bellotti,
Steve Biasotti, Stephen Carlson, Brian Curley, William Scalley, Derek Tabacco,
Errol Tabacco, and Edgar Vasquez. We wish them all a warm welcome, and hope
that they can invite some of their friends to join the "Boyd
Renaissance".

When you would like to know
about upcoming events, give us a call at (914) 237 - 2747. We are trying use our telephone answering
machine as a kind of bulletin board - a way to keep you informed of any current
council news, as well allowing the providing the general membership a point of
contact during off-hours. Don't
hesitate to call - we look forward to hearing from you.
There is a fishing trip
scheduled for Saturday, June 13th. Jack_Thornton is handling all the
arrangements and there is a separate flyer in this envelope with all the
particulars. Please contact Jack_as soon as possible to ensure your place on
the trip. An overnight camping trip is also in the works, scheduled for
Saturday/Sunday June 27th and June 28th. The trip is being organized by Joe
Crean, and all the particulars for this trip are also on a separate flyer in
this mailing. Please read the enclosed flyers for the trips and respond as
quickly as possible to confirm your place.
Bowling - The bowling season will
end on May 14th, but the battle for first place is already over. The
"Monks" have captured the title in one of the earliest clinches in
memory. Congrats on a very successful season.
Softball - The softball team,
managed by John Honan, has opened up their 1992 season with 2 wins and 2
losses. There are many new young faces on the squad, and the team is hoping to
enjoy some of their usual post-season success.

On February 8th, Bill Nage
and Ed Carey ran a Casino Night at the Bajart American Legion Post on McLean
Ave. More than 25 members contributed their time, and in many cases their
money, to make this both a fun and profitable venture by the council. Many
thanks to both chairmen, and to all the many volunteers who helped make the
night a success.
On March 7th, almost 60
people enjoyed a great night of dining and gambling. This event was organized
by Dennis Farley and revived what was once an annual event of the council.
There were many winners and a lot of laughs that evening as a good time was had
by one and all.
